The Appledore Visual Arts Festival is a 4 day visual arts event. Over the 4 days a wide variety of high quality art-creation events are programmed. This includes a Film Shorts section to the Festival.
The Appledore Visual Arts Festival started in 1998 and the Film Shorts programme was successfully introduced in 2006. The Festival has a regional (South West UK) and national profile and is recognised for its innovative and high quality programming.
Each year the Festival invites applications against various Film Short categories. Certain category winners are awarded a hand made, bespoke glass prize made by the international glassmaker Simon Moore.
Open to the publicEligibility:There are catgories for different film types and age groups :
1)Films on the 2010 Festival theme of 'Coastlines'
2) Films made by young persons (under 18)
3) Films produced by South West based filmmakers
4) Films on Ceramics
5) Animated (including 'claymation') films
Formats:All films must be submitted as PAL DVD
