History

Founded in the aftermath of 9/11 in response to an urgent plea by Mayor Guiliani to help revive New York City, the MIAAC (as it was known then) Film Festival provides South Asian Independent & Diaspora filmmakers with an exclusive, quality platform to showcase their creative talents, builds an awareness of South Asian Independent & Diaspora films in North America, and actively encourages industry professionals to view, distribute, buy these films.
