KAN's main goal is to promote independent film art and independent film artists--people, who in a couple of years will be the pillars of the contemporary Polish and world cinematography. That is why KAN is not just the 5 days of the Finals. It is a Festival which lasts the whole year--thanks to Special Screenings which are held in different places in Poland, Europe, and in the whole World.
Amateur and Independet Cinema Festival KAN, after over eleven years of its existence is now one of the biggest film events in Poland. Every year, during those few days of the Festival's Finals, we gather fans, authors, and experts of film art in the Festival's cinema, and treat them to a feast for the eyes--a selection of the best of independent cinema.
The prizes are: Golden, Silver and Brown KANewka's, awarded by the Jury. In addition, the films compete for the Jury's Special KANewka, Audience KANewka, and Journalist's KANewka.
The statues are acommpany with the cash awards.
