Festival Overview

Magma's aim is to favour the promotion and the diffusion of short-film, by showing to a large audience an excellent selection of works, coming from all around the world.

Since its first edition, Magma has received more than 5000 works, coming from 76 different countries, and shown a selection of 530 short-films to a total number of 13000 people.
Born in a little theatre in 2002, Magma has grown to become the most important short-film festival in Sicily.
This year it celebrates its 13th edition.

The Jury of Magma will award the best short film of the Festival with the Lorenzo Vecchio Prize, which is devoted to the creator and artistic director of Magma, who died prematurely.
The Jury should give also a special mention to the best short film from each section of the competition.
This year the public will vote and give a special prize to its favourite short film.
