Festival Overview

Magma's aim is to favour the promotion and the diffusion of short-film, by showing to a large audience an excellent selection of works, coming from all around the
world.

History

Since its first edition, Magma has received more than 3300 works, coming from 68 different countries, and shown a selection of 430 short-films to a total number of 11000 people.
Born in a little theatre in 2002, Magma has grown to become the most important short-film festival in Sicily.
This year it celebrates its 12th edition.

Awards

The Jury of Magma will award the best short film of the Festival with the Lorenzo Vecchio Prize, which is devoted to the creator and artistic director of Magma, who died prematurely.
The Jury will give also a special mention to the best short film from each section of the competition, focusing on the narrative, the documentary, the experimental and the animated short films.
