Festival Overview

The Durango Independent Film Festival is committed to bringing challenging, entertaining, and diverse independent film into our community, with the goal of providing a platform for filmmakers to express their unique viewpoints and creative ideas in an ever-changing world. We strive to inspire and support the independent filmmaker by providing a competitive film festival and an enthusiastic and receptive audience. We pledge to share the community and culture of this festival with local and regional schools in a manner that supports the educational goals of these institutions.

History

The Durango Independent Film Festival was founded in 2006 by many of the key staff of the Durango Film Festival that operated from 2001. The Durango Independent Film Festival is an Intimate Community Film Festival that celebrates the Independent Filmmaker and has become a favorite festival to attend for Independent Filmmakers.

Formats:
Screeners can be VHS/DVD while we need either 35mm, Beta SP or DVD for actual festival screenings.
