Festival Overview

Shorts Showcase is a television show, online film festival and mobile app that features festival quality short films from all over the world. We air in more than 18 million homes each week on PBS throughout Southern California (Yes, all through Los Angeles and Hollywood, too.) We also feature interviews with celebs, directors, producers, agents and more. We support the immense talent of filmmakers around the world!

Each year we have online and mobile voting for the year's film submissions. We gather our "Top Picks" based on the voting and hold an awards ceremony at a live screening event in the Palm Springs area, home of the Palm Springs ShortsFest. Awards include: Shorts Showcase Annual Festival Award (Overall award, most votes from SS Jury Panel); Awards for Animated, Drama, Comedy, Documentary, Romance, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Art House, Music/Dance Film Categories; and the Shorts Showcase Critics Award (most votes from SS Jury Panel to each category)
