Festival Overview

Since 1996 the Aurora Awards International Competition has RECOGNIZED EXCELLENCE in the independent film and video industry giving opportunities for winners.

The Aurora Awards an alternative to festivals wherein travel and screening events are replaced by judging feedback, promotion and advancement opportunities. We accept the largest array of genres and align our judge's strengths to your specific work created. We believe filmmakers create many types of films -- entertainment, educational, instructional, corporate, interactive, student, broadcast, and more. We may reward many winners based on the quality of content, professionalism and creativity of your work.

Programs or commercials must have been completed, aired or released within two years before the competition year entered.

Cable, PBS, online, regional, and theatrical releases are accepted.

Productions can be in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese. All other languages must have English subtitles or be judged \"as is\".


URL (internet) links preferred but will accept DVD, USB Drives, and Blu-ray
Most formats accepted. US NTSC preferred.


$90 Professionals entry fee per category
$150 Each Professional Campaign
$60 Student entry fee per category
with variety of filmmaking categories for entry
