Festival Overview

The Indy Film Fest exists to celebrate the art of cinema. We are persistent in our quest for the best the industry has to offer from home and abroad. We are dedicated to fostering new talent and helping filmmakers connect with the global industry. We are also dedicated to educating and developing audiences for international and independent cinema in Indianapolis, screening the kind of innovative, visionary work that may not normally achieve distribution in this area.

The Indy Film Fest began as the three-day Indianapolis International Film Festival in March 2004. The 2016 festival screened to our largest audiences yet, featuring films from Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Berlin and beyond. For 2017, Indy Film Fest once again plans to present one of the finest festival-going experiences in the region.

Awards

In addition to our Grand Jury Prize for best feature of the festival, we offer juried cash awards for best short and feature in these three categories: American Spectrum, World Cinema, and Documentary. We also have a juried prize for best Hoosier Lens short and feature to highlight films with Indiana ties.
