Call for Entries | 22nd International Film Festival SCHLINGEL

Directors, producers and distributors from all over the world are cordially invited to sign up for the 22nd International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL. 10 experts, children’s and youth juries award prizes with a total value of 63,000 Euros.

Only children and youth feature, short and animated films completed after 1 January 2016 can apply for the competitions. For screening purpose, a viewing copy (DVD, DCP, Blu-Ray) of the film or an online submission (eg via Wetransfer.com or link) with German or English subtitles is necessary.

The International Film Festival SCHLINGEL takes place from 25 September to 1 October 2017 in Chemnitz/Germany and conceives itself as a platform for brand new international children’s and youth films in Germany. Submission is open till 1 July 2017.

General Entries
Only children’s and youth films completed after the 1 January 2016 can apply for the competitions (feature, short, animation film and documentary). Feature films to be screened in our international competitions have to be submitted as a German premiere at least and need to have a minimum length of 45 minutes. Films to be screened in our national competition
“Focus Germany” may have been presented at other festivals in Germany and released in cinemas and on TV. Short live-action and animated films are preferred to be German premieres
and should not be longer than 45 minutes. The festival management reserves the right to decide on exceptions. For the selection process, films need to have German or English subtitles. These screeners will remain with SCHLINGEL for archiving purposes. Links have to remain valid until the end of the festival. Online submissions are
preferred.

In order to submit your production to SCHLINGEL you have to send the screener and the completed entry form to the festival before the given deadline. In any case, we ask you to carefully read the regulations. Deadline for this year's applications is 1 July 2017.
