Festival Overview

Headline International Film Festival (HIFF) aims to advance and shine the spotlight on true independent cinema and the creativity of all the artists, storytellers and collaborators involved.

Our mission is to discover and showcase new and emerging works from around the world and to provide a platform and community where filmmakers can both share and learn from one another.

HIFF's competition categories caters for the current technologically advanced market. We strive to give filmmakers of every budget a chance to shine in this competitive industry.

Eligibility:

Everyone. Film and video makers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to enter HIFF. As our mission is to discover new and otherwise unfound talent, there are no premiere status restrictions for all competition categories in HIFF.

Formats:

Submissions are accepted via online screeners: Vimeo or YouTube links are preferred.

We recommend submitting only private password-protected Vimeo or YouTube links

We put the environment first and do not accept physical submissions be it film, DVD, Blu-ray or DCP.

An HD submission is preferred, although SD is also acceptable.

We recommend:

Video Codec: H.264
Resolution: 1080p or 720p
Frame rate: Upload in the same FPS as your source footage.

Audio Codec: AAC-LC (Advanced Audio Codec)
Audio Data rate: 320 kbit/s
Audio Sample rate: 48 kHz

Fees:

$25 (videos under 30 minutes)
$40 (videos 30 minutes and over)
