Festival Overview

The third 100 Words Film Festival returns to Uptown Charlotte’s McGlohon Theater on November 4th and 5th, 2016.

The concept remains simple. We show films that are exactly 100 words long. Every film is a world premier and every film is made explicitly for this festival.

Films can be any length and on any subject and in any language, as long as it adds up to exactly 100 spoken words.

We host three categories- Scripted, Documentary and Student films. Within those categories you may submit any genre- drama, comedy, suspense... whatever you do best.

Accepted films compete for $10,000 in total prize money.
Films are judged by an independent panel of professional film critics.

All films accepted into the festival are shared as official selections on the 100 Words Film Festival site and earn IMDB credits.

The festival will add a 100 word countdown graphic to each accepted film, so leave the lower left corner of your film free of graphics.

The festival takes places over two nights in uptown Charlotte, NC. Filmmakers are welcomed to a series of VIP parties as well as seminars with accomplished directors, actors, producers and distributors.

We hope you will join us in participating in the 100 Words Film Festival
