Festival Overview

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which creative kid filmmakers compress the stories of Newbery award-winning books into amazing movies of about 90 seconds. This popular festival is in its fifth year, screening in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and of course Portland!
On February 21, 2016, the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival will show this year’s best entries at a gala screening at Portland Community Media! It is organized and hosted by author James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish).
It's FREE and fun for the whole family!

Want to make your own 90-Second Newbery? Your movie gets featured at the screenings! The deadline for movies is January 22nd, 2016, so get cracking now. Complete details, plus great past videos are at www.90secondnewbery.com.

Want to make a video? Here’s the rules.
