Festival Overview

Hobnobben Film Festival is where film lovers rub elbows with film makers, in downtown Ft. Wayne, Indiana. This Cinema Center experience is made possible with continued strong community support, dedicated volunteers, and of course, vibrant filmmaking created by artists from all over the globe. Hobnobben values diverse voices and points of view. Indiana filmmakers, women, and people of color are strongly encouraged to submit, and entry fees will be waived for Indiana filmmakers.

Eligibility:

Entrants must fully comply with these Entry Rules & Regulations in order to be considered eligible for the 2018 Hobnobben Film Fest.

Films completed prior to 01/01/2017 are not eligible for competition entry.

Films that have been exhibited prior to the festival, in any capacity, with an audience, in the northeast Indiana region, are not eligible for submission or competition with the Hobnobben Film Festival. Failure to disclose scheduled screenings with Hobnobben Film Festival officials will result in the film's ejection from festival schedule. Entrants are required to disclose all festivals and screening opportunities offered between the notification of the acceptance into Hobnobben Film Festival and the festival's opening.

Feature-length films with ongoing (or infinite-run) online distribution or availability (via iTunes, etc.) are not eligible for competition entry. Films with finite or limited availability (i.e. an online only film festival) or via independent distribution (i.e. filmmaker’s own website) remain competition eligible. Films available to the public via YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms are eligible for submission.

Non-English language films must be subtitled in English to be eligible for entry.
Films must be available for screening at the Hobnobben Film Fest 06/07/2018 through 06/10/2018; an exhibition copy and Region-free NTSC DVD back-up copy of feature-length films, or digital copy of short films must be in possession of the Hobnobben Film Festival this entire time.

SUBMISSION POLICIES AND PROCESSES

All films must be submitted via Hobnobben Film Festival's FilmFreeway Account and be viewable through FilmFreeway submission platform to be considered for festival screening.

Formats:

Accepted films will be notified via email at the address included in the FilmFreeway submission form.
a. Please add the @Hobnobben.org domain to an accepted senders list to ensure receipt of festival emails, our primary mode of communication.

By submitting, submitters represent that such exhibition of submitted work will not violate or infringe upon any rights whatsoever (including copyright, trademark, musical or contract right) of any person or entity. Submitters further represent that they are authorized to submit film and, if selected, will deliver

a.) a digital copy of short films film no later than April 30, 2018, or
b.) a physical non-region dvd/bluray, if requested, of feature-length films, to be delivered no later than April 30, 2018.

Additionally, submitters indemnify the Hobnobben Film Festival and Fort Wayne Cinema Center, Inc. from any and all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, and attorney's fee arising out of or in connection with third parties in regards to the screening of submitted film.

Any awards will be distributed to the production company of the winning film or to the person identified as a representative of the winning film’s production company in the credits thereof. All decisions of the Festival regarding the distribution of awards will be final and binding on all participants. If a representative from an award-winning film is not available to be present during Awards Ceremony, it is the responsibility of film's production company to provide Hobnobben with shipping address and correct postage to mail award. The Festival will not be liable for the distribution of any award to any party.

By submitting, submitters are stating they understood, and hereby agree to the terms written in the General Festival Rules submissions to Hobnobben Film Festival 2018.
