Festival Overview

Way Down Film Festival (WDFF) is back with the 3rd annual, high-profile
film festival in Columbus, GA. WDFF will showcase over 40 short films, celebrating the most innovative voices in narrative, animation, documentary, and experimental categories from all over the world.

Be a part of the underground… Way Down Film Festival. Grounds for Shorts

Curated into 6 different thematic genre blocks, each screening will run 70-90
minutes and consist of varying short films. Viewed on a state-of-the-art projector with a pristine sound system, film screenings will take place on The Main Stage of the gorgeous, historic Springer Opera House.
Following each screening will be filmmaker Q&A’s, moderated by our soon-to-be announced celebrity emcee. Select filmmakers and our celebrity/industry judges will also be in attendance.
Peppered throughout the two-day festival will be rocking, celebratory
receptions and networking gatherings.
The Saloon at The Springer will be available to VIP ticket holders, and those who
purchase an entrance fee pass. The Saloon will be open throughout the entirety
of the festival for a swank, hip, gathering spot to network, enjoy the cash bar,
and talk film!

VIP Kickoff Reception - Morning Filmmaker Coffee Hour -
Network After Parties - Closing Night Awards Ceremony Bash.


$2,500 Cash Prize for Best Overall Film and $250 Cash Prize for six(6) sub-categories!

Open to the public


Any short film with a running time of 1 minute to 25 minutes, including credits.
Accepting Narrative, Documentary, Animation, and Experimental genres.

Entries must be submitted as a digital submission.

Films cannot be tied to a distribution deal.

Once selected, the filmmaker must have available either DCP or digital
