Festival Overview

On the 20th May 2018 The Regent Cinema will be hosting their own film festival 'Shorts at the Seaside'.

This film festival will be showcasing the best of short films up to 10 minutes in length and is open to students and all film makers.

Awards

There will be 3 categories to enter with the main theme of the festival being deckchair based short films.

All categories will be shortlisted down to 6 and shown on the day with a winner chosen by a panel of judges.

There will be £100 cash prize to the winner of each category with all winners also having their short film shown before regular showings at the cinema over the following month.

The Shorts at the Seaside film festival is open to students and all film makers.

There will be 3 categories to enter with the main theme of the festival being deckchair based short films.

Category 1 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged under 25 on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.

Category 2 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged 25 or over on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.

Category 3 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes. This category is open to any age range and any theme.

All categories will be shortlisted down to 6 and shown on the day with a winner chosen by a panel of judges.

There will be guest speakers from the film industry who will talk and answer your questions.

All winners will also have their short film shown before regular showings at the cinema over the following month.

The day of the event will be open to anyone to attend with free entry.
