Festival Overview

03 02 am on 17th August is the anniversary of the 1999 Izmit earthquake and IISFF will commemorate this dramatic event. This, and similar dramatic events will be the festival theme, with a dedicated category for those young filmmakers:
For minors (different laws & age limits apply in different countries), written parental and/or school/education authority permission may be required. All Young Filmmakers MUST confirm their age on 17th August 2018, otherwise their entry will not be accepted.

Awards

a) Young Filmmakers (14-24): The Festival pays particular attention to emerging cinema and young filmmakers and the changes they are bringing to the film & internet industries. Their use of new equipment & techniques are quite revolutionary and we look forward to seeing how they use them.
b) Documentaries: (no age limit, no equipment limit, any subject, max length 26mins)
c) Fiction and/or Animation: (no age limit, no equipment limit, any subject, max length 15mins)

However, Documentary, Fiction & Animation filmmakers are also encouraged to approach the Earthquake subject. There will be 3 cash prizes in each category and the Municipality will offer a separate prize for the best Earthquake film from any category.
