Festival Overview

The Block Island Film Festival is a global consortium of screenwriting and filmmaking talent, both students and professionals, on the resort island of Block Island 13 miles off the coast of Rhode Island. Attending filmmakers compete and share ideas about the film business and filmmaking process.

Awards

Participating filmmaking talent competes in six competition categories: feature film/screenplay, short film/screenplay and student shirt film/screenplay. Winners and runner-ups in each category are selected from a pool of five finalists. Filmmakers compete for the Laurel Wreath award and other cash prizes.
