Festival Overview

The primary purpose of the festival is to promote the production and spread the knowledge of short movies.
Moreover, every year the festival is caratherised by a theme.
The theme for 2018 is "Mirror": directors are invited to express their personal point of view on this subject.
The Open Category will include short movies that are not related to any theme.

Awards

The following awards will be assigned:
– First Prize, to the best short movie themed “Mirror”;
– Audience Jury award, to the best short movie voted by the Reggio Film Festival audience;
– Laity award, to the best short film dealing with the theme, in agreement with the association INIZIATIVA LAICA;
– International City special mention, dedicated to short movies from cities bound by twinning and institutional friendship to Reggio Emilia, even thanks to its international network (Eurotowns, Intercultural Cities, Alda, etc)
– Sound Special Award, in cooperation with RCF S.p.a., assigned to the short movie that has distinguished itself for its particular, original and expressive use of sound, whether it is music, speech or noise;
– Family award, to the best short movie for children and families, voted by the audience.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to all filmmakers and includes the following sections:
– Mirror: short movies related to this theme, in all its possible meanings and suggestions.
– Global City: special section dedicated to short movies regarding intercultural dialogue
– Laity: special section reserved to all short movies related to the theme Laity.
– Family: special section reserved to all short movies suitable for children and families.
– Open Category: short movies that are not related to any theme.
Very short-movies will be most welcomed.

Formats:

Short movies must be sent by link, valid until November 2018.
