Festival Overview

AniFest is an international animated film festival and since its inception in 2002 it has gained a significant reputation not only in the European, but also in the international context. Since its second edition, AniFest has been a truly international festival with more and more filmmakers submitting their films every year.

In addition to a week-long meeting over international animation production, AniFest strives to facilitate the best contacts among Central European artists who are engaged in animation. In 2012, second edition of Visegrad Exchange Forum will be held at AniFest. The Forum offers workshops, discussions, roundtables as well as competition of school films from the Visegrad countries.

The festival week ends with the closing ceremony, but AniFest continues. It lives all year round in the form of the AniFest Echoes. The Echoes are held throughout the year as thematic screenings that are shown on different occasions all over the world.
