International Sound & Film Music Festival


The Park Plaza Histria hotel in Pula was the place to be during the fifth edition of the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) on October 20 - 23. The audience was delighted by a dynamic and intriguing program consisted of master classes and panels with world-renowned guests such as Robert Townson, V-President of Varese Sarabande, the largest film music record label in the world; Beth Krakower, one of the leading film music publicists in Hollywood; Jean-Michel Bernard, a composer and the best French pianist who has worked closely with Ray Charles and Martin Scorsese. Other guests include experts like Richard Parncutt, An┼że Rozman, as well as heads from ECSA (European Composers & Songwriter Alliance), CEBEF, FEST, Zagreb Music Academy, Ljubljana Music Academy, Graz Music Academy and many others.

The program also consisted of exclusive video master classes by Emmy Award-winning composer Richard Bellis and Oscar-winning sound designer Richard King, as well as several screenings of SCORE: A Film Music Documentary.

The festival has ended with the spectacular concert performed by Jean-Michel Bernard who was magnificently using a piano to recreate the magic of Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park, The Pink Panther, Schindler's List and many other beautiful film music pieces. American-Japanese singer Kimiko Ono joined him to sing a classic masterpiece Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's and a couple of other well-known songs. Ozren K. Glaser, the Artistic Director of the festival, has opened the concert by performing one of his own film music pieces and thanked the festival's partner Arenaturist, the entire team and people who worked on the project.

The town of Pula and Istrian county have recognized the priceless value of the festival and the passionate team behind it who will present Pula and Istria as the new flagship of film music industry.
