Breckenridge Film Festival

Mon 11th Feb 19: Breckenridge Film Festival calls for 2019 entries

Filmmakers are invited to submit entries for the 39th annual Breckenridge Film Festival slated for September 19 – 22. Films will be accepted in traditional categories, including Documentary, Comedy, Drama, Short Comedy and Short Drama, as well as in the categories of The Human Spirit, Adventure, Animation and Music Videos. The deadline for submissions is April 5.
The Breck Film Fest is seeking The Human Spirit films that are “honest films of a redeeming nature that speak to the deeper experiences of life that often shape, transform, and guide the human experience.” Also included are the ever-popular Adventure films, Animation and new last year, Music Videos, to the line-up of genres.
Videographer Kitty McNamee of The Yellow Room had this to say about the Music Video experience: “Incredible festival that truly supports indie film makers. Excellent communication and follow up - great promotion of the new music video category that I screened in. Wonderful to be included!”
Films have historically been submitted by local as well as global filmmakers, making the Breckenridge Film Festival an international event. Attending filmmakers never fail to give the festival accolades for being filmmaker-friendly, enjoying daily social events and a thriving hospitality suite dedicated to making the filmmaker's festival experience unique and valuable.
“A truly special festival that celebrates filmmakers with an incredibly supportive and charitable local community. From the moment we arrived, our team felt like celebrities -- no understatement,” exclaimed award winner Andrew Laurich of Walk by Faith. Pat Battistini from Tin Can said “This festival has been on my list for many years and I finally got to experience it and it didn't disappoint! Loved everything about the fest from the town itself to the liaisons to the great venues. Just a wonderful complete festival with a warm courteous staff and outstanding volunteers. I hope to return many years to come!”
Local, regional, national and international filmmakers are encouraged to submit amateur and professional films alike. The festival is particularly interested in receiving locally produced adventure films.
Filmmakers whose films are selected are offered a chance to visit Breckenridge during the festival to present the film to intimate audiences, enjoy Breckenridge Film Festival hospitality (including lodging) and mingle with fellow filmmakers as well as a film-loving audience, in an eye-popping fall setting.
