About Anand
Anand is the Founder and Artistic Director of Bangalore International Short Film Festival, the first of its kind in India and it will turn 8 on August 2018. He has been Deputy Artistic Director of the Bangalore International Film Festival and was instrumental in the success of the festival on many occasions. Anand's involvement in cinema -- which comes from a place of deep passion -- is at many levels, from Festival Programming, consulting on Festivals, acting, producing Indie films and furthermore he works tirelessly as President of Suchitra Film Society (not-for-profit) - 40-year-old organisation that concentrates on cinema appreciation and making World Cinema accessible to viewers. He is also the Trustee of Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy, another not-for-profit which shortly will be opening an innovative Cinema School in 2018. Anand also consults with many independent filmmakers and producers on the filmmaking business.

He collaborates on several International cultural forums, Film Festivals and as Jury for organisations across the globe. He is a regular invitee to Berlinale and Goteburg Film Festival. He recently invited to the Sapporo Short Film Festival, Japan and Haifa International Film Festival, Israel. This year he is invited to The Oberhausen Short Film Festival, Germany.

In his previous avatar, he worked with GE in Business Market Intelligence and Palador, a film distribution company, as a Strategic Marketing Consultant and used to head their South India operations. In the midst of all this, he continues to pursue his interest as a serial entrepreneur too!
