João Rocha graduated in Marketing from the Faculdade da Cidade. He is Producer, Director and actor. Founder and curator of Brazil Cine Fest, Macaé Cine International Film Festival (2011/2015) and honorary member of the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival. Integrates the selection commissions of the Gramado Festival (2017) and La Plata Festival (2011 and 2017). Academic Honoris Causa at the Academy of Letters and Arts of São Paulo - Falasp. Started in the cinema signing like designer of the film competitor to the Oscar: "What is this, companion ?!". Starring director of the feature film: Truth Profane ("Profana") released by Film Funds in Hollywood through Sean Stone and Oliver Stone. Co-producer of episode 2 of the series Alesia Ground Zero (USA) dir. Larissa Vereza. Between 2003 and 2017 she signed the production of several short films, among them Sinal and Do Petróleo and Cinema, nominated for the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix (2012 and 2015) and the awardees Carmen, Life is a Celebration (Mauricio Branco), Tempo Real ( Dir. Mino Barros), Abry (Dir. Joel Pizzini), Personal Vivator (Dir. Sabrina Fidalgo) and Walter do 402 (Dir. Breno Ferreira), winner of AudienceAward 2017. He also signed The Return of the Dragon - Glauber Rocha Collection and Glauber Tempo , Revitalizing the Petrobras Culture. In 2013 he directs videos for theBrazilian Press Award (Miami) and The Adventures of the Independent Filmmaker. In 2015 he directs the campaign of the Wheel Chair Festival. He was the Programming Director of the humorous Fridays of Canecão / Canequinho Café and producer of the 100 years of Dercy Gonçalves in the Teatro da Gávea. As an actor, he participates in novels and films, and in 2016 antagonizes Canto da Sombra (Thiago Kistenmaker) alongside Deo Garcez and Fabrizzia Milione.
